Aikido translates at the way (do) to union (ai) with the life energy of the universe (ki). Morihei Ueshiba, after having Mastered several martial arts, synthesized their secrets and took them to a new level.
Ueshiba, referred to as O'Sensei (Great Teacher) by Aikido Practitioners, said "Contests of strength or the use of techniques as weapons to defeat the enemy can only lead the world down the path of destruction.
True Aikido training fills us with a the ki (energy) of the universe and helps us create, preserve, and protect peace in the world. Its true function is to correctly align ourselves in purpose and mission with all of creation and to inspire us to make reality agree with that mission. Aikido training is designed to help us understand the laws of the universe and incarnate them into our own bodies. The techniques of Aikido are an expression of this attitude."
We invite you to come and watch a class. Beginning students may start any time.
